Mary Berry’s tips for her leek and potato soup recipe Mary Berry's first tip is to ensure that you make sure you don’t have the heat too high, or the butter may burn. If using a hand-held blender, keep the blades held below the level of the soup to prevent splashes, and blend for about 3 minutes. This is a simple, basic leek and potato soup, unencumbered by a lot of unnecessary and distracting extra ingredients. Leeks, potatoes, chicken broth and a little milk or cream is really all you need and that’s what you get here. Still, I wanted a more pronounced leek flavor so I doubled up on that. The recipe calls for two types of potato--red potatoes, which hold their shape and add color to the soup, and russet potatoes, which break down slightly when cooked, adding texture and body to the soup. Most potato leek soups are smooth, creamy and decidedly on the richer side This one doubles the ratio of leeks to potatoes, giving you something sweeter, chunkier and homier, brimming with soft pieces of potato and browned slivers of leeks A tablespoon or two of heavy cream, drizzled into the soup just before serving, is an optional luscious touch. 2022.01.22 08:05 No-Wish5024 Paint or dye FÖNSTERVIVA panel curtains
Has anyone tried to paint or dye FÖNSTERVIVA panel curtains? Is it possible and what product would work? I have the beige ones- materials and maintenance info on the website says 80% paper, 20% polyester (100% recycled) Not washable. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.
So I guess no but maybe someone knows for sure

2022.01.22 08:05 GrillBeast28 Is there a philosophy for this?
In middle school I remember there was a picture/exhibit in a science book. This exhibit showed the levels of systems in the human body. First was cells, next tissue, next organ, next organ system, and finally the full human body (I think that is the order, I could be wrong.) The philosophy I am searching for is one which believes that there is a next level and that people are part of nature. Not sure if I explained it well.

2022.01.22 08:05 cyclemam Settling Hack: open the OTHER door
So sleep has been AMAZING for a few months, but the 18 month regression or something is hitting and we've had some unsettledness. Tonight we had very distraught screaming 'mummy tuddle' which was over my threshold for fussing/crying and I went to settle her. She didn't want to be left (no surprise) but I was holding firm, going to give her ten minutes. She didn't let up and was ramping up. I decided to go to her again, but this time I thought I'd try something- I opened the door next to hers. She heard me. She stopped. She was still alone in her own room and she passed out.
You know when you open their door and they instantly stop and you wish you could sneak out? This was a bit like that but I hadn't opened her door.
Poor kiddo was so upset. (She gave herself a black eye just before bed which didn't help.) But sharing in case this tip helps someone else!

2022.01.22 08:05 Prestigious-Sun-2838 [request] Help finding an old hair cutting ASMR video
I don’t remember what the creator looked like but there was this old ASMR hair cutting video I cannot get out of my mind. It maybe came out over ten years ago. I believe it was a hair cutting video, but I remember one part specifically. The creator talked about how her mom (I think) used to pretend to cut her hair and put lotion on the back of her neck when she was a child. My mom used to do something similar and it would give me tingles, that’s why I liked the video so much. If you have any idea please let me know! Thanks!

2022.01.22 08:05 LudoNarraBrit Affiliate onboarding final step aaaaaa
I just reached affiliate! I've completed steps 1-3 of the onboarding process just fine. When it comes to linking my PayPal, however, I do it, I get the pop-up that says "congratulations, you've completed the onboarding process. Now do our streamer survey", but the affiliate onboarding page still says "Not Started" next to Payout Method. Any idea what could be going on here? Am I just being impatient? Will it update soon?

2022.01.22 08:05 BossExpensive First random eczema episode on my daughter
(first ever post, sorry if I don't post correctly). So my daughter who just turned 7 recently broke out in a rash all over her torso which spread to her buttocks, back, upper legs and back of her arms. She didn't complain that it was very itchy. It just came out of the blue, no change that I know of in the environment, no new soaps or detergents. First the gp thought it was fungal, that cream did nothing, then another said eczema and prescribed a steroid cream and that is working well. We plan to stop that in a few days and go to qv cream. Also stopped baths and scented washes etc (as per GP recommendations). Just wondering if others have had a similar experience? What was the cause in the end of the flare up? Any recommendations to keep her skin from doing the same again? Note me and my father both have had eczema at some point. Does seeing an Allergist help? Thank you for your responses in advance.

2022.01.22 08:05 Ok_Carob_3172 Diet Help?
Sorry for the rant, I’m really struggling.
Long-time sufferer of CFS. I’ve been moderate-severe for years but recently within the last year, I’ve massively deteriorated which was triggered by a virus, I believe.
I’ve developed some really weird symptoms that I’ve never had before and I’m struggling to get a handle on. I’ve gained 15 pounds (I’ve always been very slim so this is unusual and uncomfortable) and most of it is fat in places that I don't usually store weight. I’m ALWAYS hungry, I’m waking in the night covered in sweat, my fatigue is progressively getting worse and I’ve developed hypoglycemia (measured with a glucose monitor). Unfortunately, this has flared up an old eating disorder (bulimia) which is obviously making the situation worse.
I’m pretty sure it’s insulin resistance at this point. I have spoken to my GP who ran some blood work and ruled out diabetes but I’m not convinced. She won’t run anymore tests and I’m fed up of hearing that all of my symptoms are due to stress/anxiety when I’m trying my hardest to pace, relax, rest etc… and I’m just getting worse!
All the advice for this seems to be going on a really low carb diet or keto but I’m worried that is going to make me relapse even harder. I’ve has serious issues with food in the past and this whole thing is severely affecting my mental health now.
Not looking for medical advice but just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar and any suggestions to help get a handle on this?
I'm currently stuck eating every 2 hours and trying to lower my overall carb intake while sticking to low gi-foods.
